Runna aims to get you to the finish line faster, whether it’s your first 5k or marathon number five. Real-world coaches help you craft a personalised training plan, keep your motivation high and find the support you’ll need along the way. Here are five ways you can use Runna to hit your next personal best.
Create a personalised plan
Runna is all about you. You’ll build a personalised training plan geared towards a specific event or a general goal, starting from your current running level (e.g. 5k in 30 minutes), how far out you wish to begin the training (10, 12 or 16 weeks) and when you’re able to train.
Runs are intelligently paced out along the way, and advice is ever-present from coaches such as sports stars Steph Kessell and Beth Potter. Customised plans are also available for postnatal, post-injury and post-race recovery.

Rearrange your workouts
Sometimes, finding the motivation to lace up your trainers can be a struggle. By scheduling workouts in your calendar, you’ll probably be more likely to stick to it.
To integrate your plan with your iPhone Calendar, go to Runna’s Connected Apps & Watches settings and enable Calendar Sync. Use the Rearrange Week feature to manually move workouts around to suit your schedule and those changes will sync back to Calendar.

Add strength sessions
Your muscles and joints will thank you for incorporating supporting workouts to your plan that are geared towards improving your running. Full-body or core-focused strength workouts, for example, can aid running and recovery and could result in a stronger performance on race day.
Want to mobilise and strengthen the key running muscles? Try a 30-minute guided mobility video workout from Torzi Robinson, a specialist in yoga for runners, or a weekly Pilates session with coach Emily Young. Select Manage Plan from the main Train tab and then Add Additional Workouts to find them.

Find support and community
Remember to record your training run, so that you can upload a stat-rich summary to the Community feed and share your experiences with fellow runners. And check out the Support tab, which is jam-packed with articles on topics such as injury management.
There are also guides to nutrition, strength and mobility integration, and key running equipment. Premium users can exchange messages with coaches for tailored support and advice. And if you’re used to recording runs with the Strava app, you can sync your accounts and join thousands of Team Runna club members on the platform.
Sync your equipment
Weather not playing ball? Bring your run indoors. Treadmills are perfect for ensuring you stay with the pace Runna has recommended. The app guides you through the manual speed/incline adjustments needed to match the run plan.
Smart treadmills (those with FTMS Bluetooth capabilities) can sync with the app and automatically adjust pace and incline levels to match the planned run, enabling you to focus solely on putting one foot in front of the other. Select Connect Treadmill in-app before you start to record your run to sync the app with your equipment.
